Time flies so fast. Really, in few month from now marks the 5th year anniversary of the husband and I. It seems like we just got married and still in our honeymoon. Oh how I love to send gourmet Anniversary gifts for him. I don’t know if he is expecting anything from me because I’m not used to sending him such gift on our anniversaries. But for a change, I have to plan ahead and send him a thing that is unique and not even entered in his imagination. It’s not gonna be a surprise anymore if it happens he reads this post.

I have remembered when our relationship was still new he told me that I don’t need to buy some stuff for him, just a simple dinner  that I cooked would be enough for him. The effort I put into it is more important for him, rather than to spend for something that is hard for me to think what to give. True, I’m having a hard time to decide which item to give so most of the time I would tell him to buy any stuff he would like.

I’ll take this moment to write about my youngest daughter. She is napping right now. Oh how she loves taking power naps, at least 4 times a day, 15 or 30 minutes each time. I think my easy-moments of handling her is over. She’s not that easy anymore. She likes attention , she wants to be on my lap, but sometimes she just likes to play in her playpen. She loves to cry as well. She never been this way for the first 6 months. When she’s agitated, I wished that she’s 10 years old. When she’s smiling or being silly, I want her to be a baby all the time.

I’m no longer happy with our leather sectional set especially during cold season because the leather texture produces even more cold feeling. Aside from that reason, I couldn’t find a cheaper leather repair shop nearby. My friend also said that if I plan to repair it, its better to get a new set. Well, I’m open to the idea but sometimes the old-stuff-feeling(antique thought) of our sectional makes me think  to hold onto it for some more time.

When we decide to give it up, I think I would still choose a leather if not a darker fabric that would complement with other furniture in the house and appliances as well.  Let’s see what could we find.

My group of friends loves to hang out and eat. We are all just housewives, but one friend of mine has a part time job in transportation. She drives clients to their  doctor appointments and yesterday while she was working, we were having a little party. She sent us a group message that she is on her way, but she didn’t show up for another hour. She said her client forgot his back supports in the back seat. He really needed them as he had a back injury and he can’t sit without his back support. So she needed to go back all the way to his house.

So there is another story to share from my friend’s experience. It’s really nice to have good friends around.

Several weeks ago, I watched a TV show for business. There was this guy who finished his studies in the US but he decided to settle down in the Philippines with hope and ambition to make his business succeed. Sure enough, his business became so popular and received some recognition though out the world. He admitted that he got the idea from the US market and he brought it to his country.

Who could have imagined that selling funny shirts and other cultural prints could make him billionaire ?( in Php currency) . Indeed, it was such a great idea for him to copy other’s  business and continue to believe that it’s not bad to imitate. After all, everything in this world is a second rate copycat.

I like putting curtains on my windows, I don’t like my appliances to get sunlight on them, because it will dull their color. But it is expensive to buy one, so I decided to use my sewing machine to create my own personalized curtains.

I’ve been looking for the best fabric with a unique design and I found one it is p kaufmann. I was able to sew curtains for my 3 windows. I really like the result and my friends always give me complements every time they come for a visit.

When I first moved to Temecula, California, I started from scratch. Everything was new to me, from my neighbors, to my friends. I met this mother of 2 kids at the park, the eldest is 5 years old and the youngest is 2 yrs old, the same age with my little girl. The kids get along and I became friends with Selvia the mother.

One time she invited me and my little girl, to come to their house for play date. We brought with us swimming gear, since it is summer and we will go swimming at their pool. The first time I saw her pool, I really liked it because it is gated with pool fence houston . It means that the kids are safe if they play in the backyard and decide not to swim, because my friend can just lock the gate to the pool. Anyways, from that time our friendship started.

After a year of marriage life and passing the honeymoon stage, I started to look for a job. We lived in Austin, Texas at the time and I had found some good friends, one of them is Maryjane. She is a nurse BSRN at Doctor Whited’s office in Pflugerville texas. She asked me if I want to work temporary as a Medical Assistant at thier office, because the manager is going to have a surgery and will be out for 3 months.

I took the job and drove 18 miles everyday from our apartment in Austin to Pflugerville. At first I felt it’s far, but I started to like my job, not because my friend was there but because the place is easy to work in. Since we have Howard Medical mobile computer carts I can move freely and having elderly patients is not a problem, medical carts are good helpers. And, take note, I don’t have a proper training for this job, I graduated from a totally different field.

It feels good to be home after the short road trip to Idaho. We flew from Long Beach to Salt Lake City, Utah. From there, we drove to Pocatello, Idaho. The 2 and half-drive was smooth though some part of the area were snowing really hard. We enjoyed the whole ride seeing the beautiful nature all the way. I have seen some animals along the road including steel buildings as their shelters. What caught my attention as well are the different neighborhoods with all the snows surrounded them, it was winter indeed.

When my eyes had already seen pure white snow for an hour, I fell asleep. I was too tired from the flight with the baby on my arms. It was really a great trip because the kids were food campers. They didn’t give us headaches throughout the days that were not home. With that, another road trip we’ll have this middle of March. We will be gone for a week. This time, we’ll be heading to North California. Our first stop would be San Francisco.

The husband and I have been waiting for this week to come. We are gonna start our workout at home. We bought this P90x home workout DVDs to guide us for 90 days. I heard this is a hard workout but let’s see if we could make it for 90 days. We don’t have enough space to exercise at the same time so we’ll do one at a time. My aim is to tone my abs . I just gave birth 6 months ago and its about time to remove the excess fat since summer is almost here. I love to go the pool to swim during late spring, whole summer, and early fall. I don’t want to wear  a swimsuit with a bulky stomach , lol! It would look so irresponsible if wearing the swimming attire with excess fats visible.

The family is always watching American Idol season 11. Sad to say that last night the Filipina contested was eliminated. We were waiting for her performance since the audition but last night I think her group sung the wrong song and the group was eliminated. The Filipina has a powerful voice during the audition and for sure we thought she’ll be in top 24 but no.

Some of the contestants, during the solo performance have used musical instruments. One of them brought a guitar with Ernie Ball guitar strings, and some had drums and a piano. They are so talented and for the lucky ones they made it through the next round. So far there are 40 contestants left who will perform next week in Hollywood. This week they were in Las Vegas at Aria hotel. Sorry for those who didn’t make it. They could sing well but it’s up to the judges who they think are the best among the rest.
